Bullet Seed Move Details
Type Grass
Category Special
Power 10
Accuracy 100
PP 30

Bullet Seed is a very weak Grass-type move that deals minimal damage at best. The move is unique since it can strike its target anywhere from 2 to 5 times, but it deals damage at only 10 base Power each hit.

So you’re probably better off selling this TM for money, rather than teaching it to any Pokémon on your team.

Below is a chart that displays the odds for total hits using Bullet Seed:

Times Hit Chance %
2 37.5%
3 37.5%
4 12.5%
5 12.5%

What these odds boil down to is that 75% of the time, the move will combine for 30 base Power at best.

As these odds decrease, there’s only a 25% chance that Bullet Seed will damage for 40 or 50 base Power.

But because Bullet Seed’s power output is so low, it really isn’t worth using most of the time. To make matters worse, there’s really only one Grass-type Pokémon that can take advantage of Bullet Seed at the time you’d get TM09 – which would be your Bulbasaur.

And if you chose Bulbasaur as your starter then you should reserve their move slots for much better options.
