# | Location | Repeatable? |
1 | Safari Zone – On the ground in Area 4 in front of the Secret House | No |
The only copy of TM32 Double Team is located in Area 4 of the Safari Zone. The TM is on the ground just a few paces down from the Secret House where you get HM03 Surf.
You’ll find the Safari Zone in the heart of Fuchsia City, and the only requirement needed to enter the Safari Zone is the $500 Poké Dollar ticket price. So you can enter and pick up this TM as soon as you reach Fuchsia City.
Note: If you need help with this part of the game then you can check out our Fuchsia City walkthrough for more details on the storyline and what to do here.
TM32 Double Team Location (Step-by-Step
Step 1: From the Fuchsia City Pokémon Center, jump over the right-hand ledge and head north.

Step 2: The Safari Zone is up ahead directly to the north, but it’s behind some buildings.
So you can either cut through some cuttable trees and go straight to the back of the city, or you can take the right-hand path and loop around the outskirts of the city.

Step 3: Either way, you’ll find the Safari Zone building at the back of the city.
Go inside and pay the $500 Poké Dollar fee to enter the Safari Zone.

Step 4: When you’re inside the Safari Zone’s first area, head northeast above the house.

Step 5: Continue walking northeast through the tall grass and head towards the top-right corner where there’s a dirt path.

Step 6: Continue east on the dirt path to enter the second area of the Safari Zone.

Step 7: Now in Area Two, continue east past the sign and keep going east through some tall grass.

Step 8: Just ahead is an elevated rock platform.
Head up the small stairs, then turn southwest and go down the next set of stairs on your left.

Step 9: From the bottom of these stairs, head over and go north past the body of water.

Step 10: Continue north to go up onto the next rock path ahead, then follow it over to the right and go down the set of stairs.

Step 11: After climbing down the stairs, go up behind the rocky platform and head west through the tall grass.

Step 12: Continue walking west past the sign and look for an exit path leading to Area 3.

Step 13: Follow the exit to Area Three.

Step 14: Now in Area Three, keep west through the tall grass.

Step 15: You’ll see two staircases ahead – you want to go up the 2nd staircase leading to a rocky hill, so follow that up and wrap around the raised rocky platform.

Step 16: From the bottom of the stairs on the rocky platform, head north past the body of water.

Step 17: Continue heading north and you’ll pass two more bodies of water on the left.

Step 18: After passing the bodies of water, head east on the dirt path.
As you go you’ll also see an item on the ground near a tree – this is actually the Steel Wing TM. So feel free to grab it if you’d like!

Step 19: Ahead to the east is a Rest House. From here, go up to the very top pathway and head west.

Step 20: Continue walking west towards the patch of tall grass.

Step 21: Once you’ve reached the tall grass, head south and travel all the way down past the body of water.

Step 22: If you keep going south you’ll eventually reach an exit leading into Area Four.

Step 23: Now in Area Four, head west past the sign.

Step 24: TM32 Double Team will be on the ground in a Poké Ball in front of the Secret House on your left.
And there are actually 2 other valuable items you can get in Area 4:
- HM03 Surf – you’ll get this HM from an NPC inside the Secret House.
- Gold Teeth – you’ll find this key item on the ground if you go back to the wooden sign and then head down a bit. You can return these Gold Teeth to the Warden and get HM04 Strength.

TM32 Double Team Details + Uses

Double Team Move Details | |
---|---|
Type | Normal |
Category | Status |
Power | – |
Accuracy | – |
PP | 15 |
Double Team is used to raise your Pokémon’s Evasion stat. Like other Evasion boosting moves, it can be a very frustrating strategy for your opponent to deal with.
Evasion increases by one stage with each use of Double Team, and it maxes out at 6 stages (so it’s only worth using 6 times per battle).
A Pokémon’s evasiveness affects the Accuracy of your opponent’s moves. Here’s how increases in your Evasion stat affect your foe’s Accuracy by stage:
Stage | Opponent’s Accuracy |
---|---|
1 | x0.75 |
2 | x0.60 |
3 | x0.50 |
4 | x0.428 |
5 | x0.375 |
6 | x0.33 |
Double Team can be an effective move for any Pokémon that relies upon the stalling strategy. Because increasing your Evasive stat will almost always lengthen the duration of battle due to frequent misses.
Once you’ve used this move once or twice in a fight, Double Team allows your staller to use HP-draining moves like Toxic more effectively.
Note: There are attacks that ignore Evasion and are guaranteed to always hit, such as Shock Wave, Aerial Ace, and Swift. Double Team can also be countered by moves like Haze, Defog, and Odor Sleuth, as they will reset the battlefield and negate any changes to your Pokémon’s Evasion.
But if you have a staller in your party that you’d like to pair with Koga’s Toxic TM, then Double Team is worth picking up once you reach Fuchsia City in your playthrough.
