Buckwheat Flour is a rare cooking ingredient in Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town. It can only be obtained in two ways:

As a prize by attending the New Year’s Soba Festival every Winter 30th
Or by playing the Harvest Goddess’ TV game from Spring 1st to 5th

To attend the New Year’s Soba, just enter Rose Plaza after 6:00 PM on the last day of the year. There will be a short cutscene and opportunities to interact with the villagers present – no further requirements are needed for you to receive the prize.

The farmer attends the New Year’s Soba.

By simply showing up at Rose Plaza for the New Year’s Soba, you’ll receive 9 bags of Buckwheat Flour in your inventory the next day.

Remember to clear out an extra slot in your inventory before going to bed!

Note: Attending the New Year’s Soba will prevent you from going to the New Year’s Party since both festivals overlap on the same day.

If you want to attend the Party instead, then the Harvest Goddess Game Show is another way to get Buckwheat Flour.

The farmer plays the Harvest Goddess Game Show on Spring 1st.

This limited segment on the Entertainment Channel will only be available during the first five days of Spring. It’s a simple RNG-based minigame: the Harvest Goddess will show you a number between 0-9, and you get to choose if the next number will be higher or lower than the first.

Winning 3-9 rounds in a row will reward you with Buckwheat Flour, but scoring any higher than that can get you Mochi instead.

The farmer wins Buckwheat Flour from the New Year’s Game Show.

You can play this game up to five times a day until Spring 5th.

Buckwheat Flour Uses

The main use for Buckwheat Flour is to make Zaru Soba, a dish also used to create other recipes.
