Gym Puzzle Solution
This Gym features a sliding ice tile puzzle. It can be difficult to figure it out on your own, but it’s simple with the right directions.
First, position yourself between the left Pokéball pillar and the wall.
Then follow these exact movements to reach Pryce:
- Up
- Up
- Right
- Down
- Left
- Up
- Right
You’ll only have to fight one of the other trainers before reaching Pryce.
Tips for Beating Pryce
- Level Up Your Party to Around Level 30: Seel and Dewgong are both Level 29 and under, but the Level 31 Piloswine is formidable. The smaller your party, the more you need to train.
- Use Fire-type Pokémon: Fire-types are resistant against Ice-type moves, and Fire-type moves are super effective against all of Pryce’s critters. If you didn’t pick Cyndaquil as your starter, consider catching a Growlithe on Routes 35, 36, or 37 between 4 AM and 6 PM.
- Avoid Grass-type Pokémon: Although Grass-type moves are super-effective against all of Pryce’s team, Grass-type Pokémon are vulnerable to Ice-type damage. One Aurora Beam or Icy Wind might be enough to put you in a tough spot.
- Expect Healing: Pryce has a Hyper Potion that he won’t hesitate to use. It’s especially troublesome when he uses it on the tanky Piloswine. Don’t get caught off-guard.
Rewards for Defeating Pryce
Here’s what you’ll get from Pryce after winning the Pokémon battle:
- Glacier Badge

- 3,100 PokéDollars
The Glacier Badge has the following effects:
- Lets your Pokémon use Whirlpool outside of battle to cross over whirlpools in the water.
