Where To Get TM81 X-Scissor in Pokémon HGSS

At the Battle Frontier Access Area with a Corphish (Pokémon HeartGold)

TM81 X-Scissor is one of the many TMs only available at the Battle Frontier. You will need to spend Battle Points (BP) to acquire the TM, and you will need to have defeated the Elite Four before you can access this area.

The TM costs 64 BP, and you can get unlimited copies if you can afford them.

Finding TM81 X-Scissor

The Battle Frontier is to the left of Olivine City.

If you have never been to the Battle Frontier before, start by taking Olivine City’s west exit. Just go west past Olivine City’s Pokémon Center onto Route 40.

Keep walking through this building and leave through the opposite end of the entrance hall to get to the actual Battle Frontier grounds.

You will see a set of stalls not far from the entrance. These stalls carry different kinds of items that you can get by exchanging Battle Points.

Key Takeaways:

  • X-Scissor works best as a STAB move for physically-oriented Bug-types. There are other options for these kinds of Pokémon, like Megahorn and Bug Bite. But X-Scissor may take the edge for its mix of high power, good accuracy, and high learning availability.
  • X-Scissor could also be used as a coverage move. Although few types are weak to Bug, so it’s not always necessary.

We can recommend the following Pokémon that would benefit from X-Scissor:

  • Pinsir
  • Armaldo
  • Ninjask
  • Shedinja
  • Crawdaunt
  • Kabutops
  • Kingler
  • Gallade
