How To Get the Soothe Bell in Pokémon ORAS

You can only obtain the Soothe Bell from a woman in the Pokémon Fan Club in Slateport City. She will give you the Soothe Bell if you show her a Pokémon that has a high level of friendship toward you (at least 150 friendship or more).

Note that this is the only Soothe Bell you can get in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire.

Prerequisites

Before you can obtain the Soothe Bell from the woman in the Pokémon Fan Club, you need a Pokémon with a Friendship score of at least 150. To find out if your Pokémon is friendly to you, you can visit the friendship rater in Verdanturf Town.

The woman in the fan club will examine the first Pokémon in your party, so make sure to place your friendly Pokémon at the front before speaking to her.

Tip: It’s easiest to just have your starter Pokémon examined for its friendliness level. Chances are that by this point in the game, your starter would have enough Friendship for you to receive the Soothe Bell.

Getting to the Pokémon Fan Club

Assuming you have a friendly Pokémon already at the front of your party, here’s how to find the woman in the Pokémon Fan Club:

Step 1: From the Slateport City Pokémon Center, go southwest. The fan club is just across the street to your left.

Step 2: You’ll spot the Pokémon Fan Club as a tan building with a bright golden-colored roof (pictured below). Head inside.

Step 3: Once inside, speak to the woman wearing a pink outfit circled below.

She will examine the first Pokémon in your party for its Friendship level.

If your Pokémon’s Friendship level is high enough, she will give you the Soothe Bell.

How the Soothe Bell Works

Any Pokémon holding a Soothe Bell will gain 50% more Happiness from regular in-game actions. You’ll see happiness increases when you perform specific actions, such as any of the following:

• Walking while the Pokémon is in your party
• Leveling it up
• Using items on it
• Getting it groomed

Note: Bonuses acquired from the Luxury Ball and met location will also be applied first before the Soothe Bell.

The Soothe Bell is definitely worth getting in the early game because it’ll be valuable at every point in your playthrough. It’s also a fantastic held item to use when trying to max out any Pokémon’s happiness.
