How To Get TM10 Hidden Power in Pokémon ORAS

Using Hidden power in Battle (Pokémon ORAS)

In a house in Fortree City, an elderly woman will want to play a coin game with you. If you win the coin game, she’ll give you TM10 Hidden Power as a reward. The house you’re looking for is 2nd to the right of the Pokémon Center in Fortree – you just climb up a ladder and go inside.

Hidden Power is a move that varies in type depending on your Pokémon’s IVs. To know what type your Pokémon’s Hidden Power is, talk to the elderly woman on the right side in the same house.

TM10 Hidden Power Location (Step-by-Step)

Fortree City is located between Route 119 in the west and Route 120 in the east. It should be accessible once you’ve done a few things:

  • Obtained the fifth Gym Badge from Norman, Petalburg City’s Gym Leader
  • Dealt with Team Aqua/Magma in the Weather Institute at Route 119
  • Defeated your Rival at Route 119

If you’ve done all that, head to Fortree City’s Pokémon Center. And then here’s our step-by-step guide to getting TM10:

Step 1: Head east and climb up the ladder.

The elderly woman on the left will ask you to guess where she’s holding the coin three consecutive times. The correct answer is always the same pattern:

  1. Right Hand
  2. Right Hand
  3. Left Hand

Then you’ll be rewarded with TM10 Hidden Power.

Hidden Power is a unique move that varies in type depending on the user’s IVs. IVs, or Individual Values, are what determine the overall potential of your Pokémon’s stats. Up to a maximum of 31 per stat, each IV is randomly generated whenever you catch or hatch a Pokémon.

Since IVs cannot be changed, there is no way to change your Pokémon’s Hidden Power type once it’s set.

Even with its low base power, Hidden Power can be an effective move to catch your opponent off-guard. Have a Pokémon learn a Hidden Power type that’s super effective against the types you’re weak to.

The most popular Hidden Power types include Ice, Fire, and Ground. These types are especially good because they provide coverage against a wide variety of commonly-used Pokémon.

Fun Fact: Since the method for determining the type of Hidden Power remains unchanged from previous generations, a Fairy-type type Hidden Power is impossible.
