How To Get TM01 Mega Punch in Pokémon Yellow

TM01 can be found in two locations in Pokémon Yellow:

You can first get this TM in a small room on the bottom floor of Mt. Moon. The room can be reached by going down two ladders, with the first ladder being located near the center of the first floor right when you enter the cave.

This TM can also be purchased at the Celadon City Department Store from the right cashier on the 2nd floor.

Getting TM01 Mega Punch

Method 1: From Mt. Moon

Starting from the Route 3 Pokémon Center, head east and enter Mt. Moon.

Once you’ve entered the cave, head north until you reach a sign next to a trainer.

At the start of Mt. Moon.

Once you’re at the sign, go northeast until you pass the ladder next to the large rock on the right.

If this is your first time inside Mt. Moon, you can walk around the trainer next to the sign if you wish not to fight her.

Once you’re above the ladder and rock on the right, head east until you reach a gap between two large rocks.

At the gap, head north until you’re above the large rocks all going horizontally.

There’s a trainer above you here that you can’t see until you walk far enough north. You can avoid being noticed by her if you stay to the right.

Once you’re near the trainer, head west until you hit a rock wall.

Once you see the long vertical rock wall, head south and go down the nearby ladder.

From here, go west down another ladder.

In a room on the basement floor 1 of Mt. Moon.

Now just head northeast up a set of stairs onto a small rock platform. The Pokéball on the rock contains TM01.

Note: There’s a Rocket grunt in the area, but you can avoid him if you go up the stairs on the left.

Method 2: From the Celadon City Department Store

Starting from the Celadon City Pokémon Center, head west until you reach the side of the department store.

Once you’ve reached the side of the building, head southwest to reach the department store’s entrance.

Once you enter the department store, head up to the 2nd floor.

You can get to the 2nd floor by using the elevator on the left or by going up the stairs on the right.

Once you’re on the 2nd floor, go to the cashier’s desk in the center of the room and talk to the cashier on the right.

Select TM01 from the purchasable TM List. TM01 will cost you 3000 Pokédollars, and you can buy an unlimited number of copies this way.

Mega Punch is a straightforward high power Normal type move that a wide variety of Pokémon can learn.

Also, being able to purchase the TM repeatedly from the Celadon City Department Store means you have easy access to the move for multiple Pokémon.

For Normal type Pokémon with a high attack stat, or Pokémon with a high attack stat in general, Mega Punch is a great move option for your playthrough.
