Once you reach a purple heart level with a marriage candidate (equal to 10,000 Love Points), you get to participate in a Heart Event which is a special cutscene with that character.

These Heart Events only occur with the 12 normal marriage candidates: Brandon, Cliff, Doctor, Elly, Gray, Jennifer, Kai, Karen, Marie, Popuri, Ran, and Rick.

And with each Purple Heart event you also get a small gift.

Below is a list of all the marriage candidates, how to trigger their purple heart events, and all the available gifts you can get.

Brandon

In Brandon’s purple heart event, he shows you one of his handmade sculptures. As an artist, he wants to know your opinion on his work and is excited when you show interest in him.

To get on his good side, the correct response for this event is “Enchanting! Beautiful! Now THIS is art!”

After the conversation, he offers you a smaller version of the sculpture.

Cliff

You encounter Cliff in this heart event when Duke and Manna see you walking past the vineyard at Adge Winery. They’re worried about overworking Cliff and want him to take a short break.

When you agree to take Cliff to the summit for a small breather, he asks you how you feel about your work as a farmer.

To get the correct response and earn +3,000 Love Points, answer with “Yo hoe, a farmer’s life for me!” or “I think it’s my calling.”

Before he leaves to go back to work, Cliff will hand over a Flower Ornament as a token of thanks.

Doctor

Doctor’s purple heart event isn’t the most intimate among all the marriage candidates, but it shows a lot of his character. In the cutscene, Elly greets you at the door and tells you to head into Doctor’s office because he needs to give you something.

In this exchange with Elly, you need to reply with “What could it be?” to be able to proceed into the office. However, this will earn you LP and FP with Elly instead of Doctor.

Once inside, Doctor will give you a Negative Ionizer device to test out, which is said to promote healing for hard workers (like you!) and help with relaxation.

Elly

Elly’s purple heart event mostly involves her family, Ellen and Yu. When you pay them a visit, Yu throws a small fit and runs outside of the house during lunch.

When Ellen asks you to find Yu and bring him back inside, you should accept their request to earn Friendship Points with both Ellen and Yu. This also gives you 3,000 Love Points with Elly.

Once Yu returns, Elly gives you a Pressed Flower before the heart event ends.

Gray

In a surprising turn of events, Gray visits you on the farm for his purple heart event. When you greet him as you walk out of the house, he asks if you’re interested in jewelry.

If you respond with “I live to be adorned in opulence!”, Gray will gift you one of his handmade brooches as a thank you for the previous conversation in his grey heart event.

Jennifer

Unlike the other marriage candidates, Jennifer gives you a gift during her blue heart event (unlocked at 20,000 Love Points) instead of the purple heart event.

In the blue heart event, Jennifer pays Lillia a visit to show her a sample of her handmade potpourri. During this conversation, you enter the room and Jennifer offers you a sample as well.

The dialogue prompt occurs after you receive the gift and will not change the outcome of the event.

But to earn 3,000 Love Points with Jennifer here, select the option “Wow. You have a great heart.”

Kai

Kai’s purple heart event will only occur if you show up at his beach cafe when you’re tired, or have below 50% total stamina points. As you enter the beach, you begin to faint and Kai brings you to the clinic for treatment.

After you wake up, Kai talks to you again. Respond with “Okay, if you insist.” to receive a Sea Talisman from him.

Karen

Karen’s purple heart event involves her parents (Jeff and Sasha) and Duke. When you walk inside the General Store, you find Duke dropping off several cases of wine. The wine was commissioned by Karen’s parents when she was born.

When Jeff notices you, he asks if you could help Karen carry all the wine home. Selecting the option “Let the wine flow.” earns you Friendship Points with everyone present.

After you help Karen bring the wine back to the General Store, she gives you one bottle of Karen’s Wine as a token of her gratitude.

Marie

Marie’s purple heart event is one of the more intimate cutscenes early on in the game. As you enter the summit on Mother’s Hill, you find her reading a book alone at the top and crying.

After a heartfelt conversation with Marie, she asks you if books make you emotional as well.

The correct response to her question is “Yeah. Books are love. Books are life.” She will then give you the book that she was reading.

Popuri

As you enter Mineral Church on a Sunday, you find Popuri and Carter playing with the children. Popuri asks you if you would sub in for Carter, since he doesn’t want to play anymore.

Responding with “As they say, ‘All work and no play…’” will result in additional Friendship Points for the majority of the characters present. Popuri brings everyone to the forest to play, and you spend the rest of the afternoon with them.

At the end of the play date, Popuri gives you a Dorodango before leaving.

Ran

Walking into Dudley’s Inn will trigger a cutscene where Ran is feeling sick. As you enter the main area, selecting the dialogue “Quick, to the Clinic!” will prompt Dudley to bring her to the clinic.

After a quick checkup at Mineral Clinic, Doctor concludes that she had eaten too much earlier in the day.

Once you accompany Ran and Dudley back home, she expresses her thanks and gives you a Music Box.

Note: The Music Box will not be able to play any music or unlock new records, but you can display it in your house.

Rick

Lillia and Popuri greet you when you enter PoPoultry Ranch to visit Rick. They explain that he’s upstairs, and you’re free to visit him on the second floor of their house.

As you talk to Rick, he tells you about his family and why his dad is no longer around. After listening, he asks you if you think he’s boring.

If you respond with “You’re not boring me at all.”, Rick gives you his father’s wristwatch before you leave PoPoultry.
