How To Get TM39 Rock Tomb in Pokémon Black & White

Using Rock Tomb in battle (Pokémon Black)

TM39 Rock Tomb can be found in the Southwest corner of the Desert Resort. The easiest way to reach the Desert Resort is to start at the Nimbasa City Pokémon Center, head South to Route 4, and follow Route 4 to the Desert Resort entrance.

Both Route 4 and the Desert Resort have sandstorm conditions, which will chip away at your Pokémon’s HP in battle. Be sure to stock up on Potions to prevent your party from fainting.

Rock Tomb is a Normal-type move that deals damage at 50 base power, while also lowering the target’s speed by one stage.

Rock Tomb Move Details
Type Rock

TM39 Rock Tomb is a Physical Rock-type move that deals 50 base damage. The move’s best advantage is that it slows the target’s speed by one stage.

Rock Tomb can be a useful move for the early game, but isn’t viable late in your journey due to its weak damage, subpar accuracy, and low PP.

Rock Tomb can help in a pinch to gain a turn advantage over your opponent by reducing their Speed, but you’re better off using a consumable item like X Speed to raise your own Pokémon’s Speed stat.
