You can get your first Sharp Beak from Monica, one of the Week Siblings. Monica hangs out on Route 40 on Mondays. She will be standing a few steps south of the Battle Tower entrance.

But Sharp Beaks can also be found on 2% of all wild Fearow and Dodrio as a held item. The earliest location you can find either of these Pokémon is wild Fearow on Route 42.

Getting Sharp Beaks

Method #1: Monica on Route 40 (Monday Only)

Olivine City and Route 40 on the Johto map.

Start at the Pokémon Center in Olivine City and go left, following the coastline into Route 40.

You’ll find Monica standing beside some breakable rocks a few steps south of the Battle Tower entrance.

Talk to her to get a Sharp Beak.

Method #2: Wild Fearow or Dodrio

Both Fearow and Dodrio have a 2% chance of holding a Sharp Beak when encountered in the wild.

Once you find a Fearow or Dodrio, you can use Thief on them to check for Sharp Beaks or catch them and check manually.

Sharp Beak Uses

The Sharp Beak is a held item that increases the Power of Flying-type moves by 10%.

Countless powerful Flying-type Pokémon could benefit from Sharp Beak, including Charizard, Gyarados, Skarmory, and Gen 2’s legendaries: Ho-Oh and Lugia.

Moves like Drill Peck or Lugia’s signature Aeroblast are excellent for pairing with Sharp Beaks.
