Getting the Meteorite Shard in Granite Cave (Pokémon Omega Ruby)

You will obtain the Meteorite Shard in Granite Cave after defeating Zinnia. This is an unmissable event in the Delta Episode, so you will get this key item as part of the game’s storyline.

But you must defeat the Elite Four in order to unlock the Delta Episode, so this is a post-game event.

Getting the Meteorite Shard (Step-by-Step)

After defeating the Elite Four, you will automatically return to Littleroot Town.

Here’s what to do next to find Zinnia:

Step 1: Exit your house and then walk to the right and enter Professor Birch’s house.

Step 2: Your rival will start a brief dialogue once you enter Professor Birch’s house. Once the dialogue is over, exit the house again.

Step 3: After leaving Professor Birch’s house, fly over to Petalburg City.

Step 4: From Petalburg’s Pokémon Center, walk left and continue along the dirt path. Head to the northwest of the city, walking past the Gym.

Step 5: After walking past the Gym, continue left and then turn up towards Wally’s house.

Step 6: You will run into an evil team Admin in front of Wally’s house. The Admin will challenge you to a battle.

They use a level 53 Sharpedo (AS) or Camerupt (OR).

Step 7: After defeating the evil team Admin, fly over to Rustboro City.

Step 8: Walk to the right of the Rustboro Pokémon Center and head north along the main street. Move past the first junction.

Step 9: After walking past the first junction, turn left at the second junction.

Step 10: Continue heading left and turn up at the end of the street towards the Devon Corp.

Step 11: Keep heading forward, towards the Devon Corporation building. You will run into Steven at the entrance, starting a short dialogue.

Step 12: The game will proceed automatically from here, and you will be taken to Mr. Stone’s office.

Step 13: After talking to Mr. Stone, exit the Devon Corporation building and fly to Dewford Town.

Step 14: Walk to the right of the Dewford Pokémon Center and continue to the north, towards Route 106.

Step 15: Once you arrive on Route 106, continue to the northwest from the Route’s entrance.

Step 16: Keep heading to the northwest. Go past the sign board and then continue to the west.

Step 17: Continue to the west, past the sign board, then turn in front of the Backpacker to enter Granite Cave.

Step 18: Inside Granite Cave, continue to the left side.

Step 19: Keep heading left until you reach the staircase at the end of the hall.

Step 20: Walk down the staircase and enter the room in the back of the cave.

Step 21: Inside the room, walk forward and continue to the staircase in the back.

Step 22: You will run into Zinnia here.

After a brief dialogue, she will challenge you to a battle. Her team consists of the following Pokemon, all at level 55:

  • Tyrantrum
  • Altaria
  • Salamence

Step 23: After defeating Zinnia, you will obtain the Meteorite Shard as a reward.

With the Meteorite Shard you will be able to advance the Delta Episode’s story.
