How To Get the Silk Scarf in Pokémon ORAS

The Silk Scarf can be acquired from an Ace Trainer NPC in Dewford Town. You can find him inside a house by the dock northeast of the town.

Dewford Town is located on a small island southwest of Hoenn. In the early game, you can only travel to the town aboard Mr. Briney’s boat after helping him recover his kidnapped Wingull.

As for the item itself, the Silk Scarf boosts the power of its holder’s Normal-type moves.

Prerequisites

In front of Mr. Briney’s Cottage on Route 104.

If you haven’t discovered Dewford Town yet, you’ll need to assist an old sailor named Mr. Briney, whom you’ll find outside Rusturf Tunnel on Route 116.

He will tell you that his Wingull, Peeko, has been kidnapped by a Team Magma/Aqua Grunt.

After defeating the Grunt and rescuing Peeko, Mr. Briney thanks you and returns to his cottage by the sea on Route 104, near Petalburg Woods.

When you visit him at his cottage he’ll offer to ferry you to Dewford Town in his boat.

Silk Scarf Location

Once you gain access to Dewford Town, you can obtain the Silk Scarf from the Ace Trainer inside the house north of the dock.

Here’s how to find the Ace Trainer:

Step 1: From the Pokémon Center in Dewford Town, head northeast.

Step 2: You can find the house just north of the Dewford Town dock (pictured below). Go Inside.

Step 3: Once inside, speak to the Ace Trainer seated at the table (circled below). He will give you the Silk Scarf.

How the Silk Scarf Works

The Silk Scarf is a held item that raises the power of its holder’s Normal-type moves by 20%.

It is a decent type-enhancing item you can get early in the game – since it’s already obtainable by the time you arrive in Dewford Town.

In Gen III and IV, in addition to boosting Normal-type moves, the Silk Scarf also increased the power of the holder’s confusion damage. But this effect has since been removed in later generations, and it no longer applies to Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire.
