You’ll find the Suite Key on the ground directly left of the Hotel Grand Lake’s reception building. The key is hidden on a pavement tile immediately northwest of your position right after you enter the area.
Suite Key Details
Shortly after your first visit to Veilstone City, your journey will take you southward to the Hotel Grand Lake: a high-end resort south of the Valor Lakefront.
One of the first things you’ll notice when you arrive at the Hotel is a woman standing outside her bungalow and muttering hopelessly to herself. She says she has lost the key to her suite (and apparently not for the first time).
The woman says wishes she had a Dowsing Machine Pokétch app. She’ll also mention the last place she remembers having the Key: when she left the Hotel’s reception counter earlier in the day.
These comments serve as clues to the lost Suite Key’s whereabouts. And as someone who does have the Dowsing Machine app, it’s your duty as a responsible citizen to help keep this woman from sleeping on the streets.
Acquiring the Suite Key
There are no requirements for reaching the Hotel Grand Lake or finding the Suite Key, and it can basically be done at any point after winning the Relic Badge from Leader Fantina in Hearthome City.
You won’t be able to Fly to the Hotel Grand Lake at any point, so you’ll have to take one of the longer ways there.
You can reach the Hotel by one of three routes:
- Starting in Veilstone City and heading south
- Starting in Pastoria City and heading east
- Starting in Sunyshore City and heading west (after defeating Giratina)
Unless you’re already at the end of the game, starting in Pastoria City is probably the quickest option. So Fly to the Pastoria Pokémon Center and head east past the Great Marsh.
Continue east and pass through the gate to Route 213.
Keep going east after emerging on the other side.
When the path curves to the south, follow it onto the beach.
Once you hit the ocean, turn eastward again and follow the coastline.
As you move east, the beach will become a narrow sandbar. Head north after it widens again.
Enter the first building you come across (the Hotel Grand Lake’s reception office) and pass through it.
You’ll find the Suite Key right next to the Hotel Grand Lake’s reception building—it’s hidden on a pavement tile directly to the northwest of where you enter the premises.
You can use the Dowsing Machine Pokétch app if you need help finding it.
Face the tile pictured above and press A to pick the Suite Key up.
Suite Key Details and Uses
Once you have the Suite Key, you’ll need to return it to the woman so she can unlock her bungalow.
Start by heading north from where you found the Key.
Take a right at the Seven Stars Restaurant.
Head down the stairs to the north and speak to the woman outside the suite again.
You’ll automatically hand her the Key, and she’ll thank you exuberantly and head inside her now-unlocked suite.
Follow her inside and speak to her one more time to have her reward you with the White Flute, an item from the Hoenn region that attracts wild Pokémon when played.
