Hyper Beam Details + Uses

Hyper Beam Move Details
Type Normal
Power 150
Accuracy 90%
PP 5 (max. 8)
Effect If the move successfully hits an opposing Pokémon, and the opposing Pokémon doesn’t faint, the user must recharge in the following turn.

With 150 power, Hyper Beam is one of the strongest moves in the game. In many cases, Hyper Beam can result in one hit KO’s.

However, the move’s biggest weakness is that the user has to “recharge” the turn after using it.

This means the user can’t attack or switch out during the turn that they “recharge.”

But if Hyper Beam makes the opposing Pokémon faint, then the user doesn’t have to recharge in the following turn.

Considering Hyper Beam’s massive power, and if the move is used by a Pokémon with a high attack stat, then it’s more than likely that Hyper Beam will knock out the opposing Pokémon.

Though it can be risky, Hyper Beam makes for a great finishing move.
