Furogawa is an early-game island you can reach in Spiritfarer. On Furogawa you can find the spirit Gustav, as well as an ability shrine, a Raccoon Shop, and some resources.

How To Unlock

Located in the game’s Furogawa region, the similarly-named island can be reached without any prior ship upgrades.

Whether you find it on the World Map or stumble upon it while randomly sailing, it’s immediately reachable with no prerequisites.

What To Find

Gustav on the island of Furogawa.

When you first step foot on the island, head right until you find a tall red spirit standing on the porch of one of the houses. This is the spirit Gustav, and you can recruit him to the ship after finishing the “Five Views of Mount Furogawa” request.

Furogawa Ability Shrine

If you keep heading right past Gustav, you will find Furogawa’s Ability shrine.

In exchange for two obols (which you’ll get from previous spirits), this shrine unlocks Stella’s Glide ability. Once unlocked, you can practice this ability in any of the air drafts scattered across the island.

Furogawa Chests

There are a handful of hidden chests on the island to track down. Note that most of these chests require the Glide ability, so you’ll want to unlock that first.

Here’s where to find each of these chests:

Chest #1 (Furogawa Key)

Contains:

Key for Furogawa House

Use the air draft to glide up.

From the island’s ability shrine, head right and glide up by using the air draft.

Then glide all the way right to find a spirit on a platform with a lawn chair. Talk to the spirit to get the Furogawa house key.

Chest #2

Contains:

Signed Vintage Poster

Step 1: Go to the same air draft again from the previous chest and glide up to maximum height.

Glide up to maximum height before gliding down to your left.

Step 2: Then slowly glide down to your left until you land on top of a light pole with a chest.

Land down on the light pole to your left.

Chest #3

Contains:

1 Large Glim Bottle
1 Linen Seed

Step 1: Go back down from the pole from the previous chest, and then look for an enshrined tree (you can find this just before the Raccoon Shop).

You should see a house directly next to the tree – and this is what you’ll use the Furogawa Key for.

Go to the house to the left of the enshrined tree.

Step 2: Using the key you received earlier, use it to unlock the house and climb up the ladder inside to find a chest visible through the circular window.

Chest #4

Contains:

1 Hematite
1 Fish Curry Recipe

Step 1: From the house that you unlocked above, head left and look for a chair and table outside, along with a tall spirit.

From the house you unlocked, head left to the next house with the table and chair outside.

Step 2: Stand on the table, then either dash or double jump and glide your way towards the left to reach the top of the light pole with another chest. This may take a few tries for you to get right.

From the table, dash or double jump to your left.

Land on this light pole for the next chest.

Chest #5

Contains:

2 Rice Seeds
1 Leek Seed

Drop down to the lower level of the pole for the last chest.

Simply drop down vertically below the lamp post with the previous chest.

This will have you landing on the lower level of the light pole, and that’s where you’ll find the final chest on the island.

Raccoon Shop Inc. Inventory

Furogawa’s ability shrine and Raccoon shop are right beside each other.

Furogawa also has a Raccoon Shop that you can find near the middle of the island. It’s right beside the ability shrine.
