Homemade Paper is a recipe item you can make in Spiritfarer. To make it, you will need to combine sawdust and household glue in the kitchen.

What You Need

In order to make this item, you will need three things:

The Improved Kitchen
1 Household Glue
1 Sawdust

You can improve your kitchen early in the game via the blueprint that Atul gives to you during the “Big Stove” request.

Where To Get Household Glue

Fishing for the seed that will grow into Stanley.

Household Glue is a quest-related item that the spirit Stanley will give to you. So to start, make sure you recruit him first. Here’s how:

Step 1: Start by sending four spirits to the Everdoor. This is the longest part of the process, and requires finishing a spirit’s storyline and then taking them to the Everdoor.

Step 2: Then, start fishing for a mysterious seed with a mushroom icon. This seed can be fished anywhere at any time. If you can’t fish for it, you can also try looking for it in Francis’ Floating Shop.

Step 3: Once you have the seed, plant it in your Garden and water until it grows into Stanley.

After getting Stanley on the ship, complete these requests of his in order:

Big Boy’s Room (1)
Big Boy’s Room (2)
Unnamed Request (Dust Shades Minigame)

Making household glue in the Foundry.

After these requests, Stanley will give you the “Dr. Splash’s Strange Experiments” quest, where he’ll ask you to smelt an old shoe in the Foundry.

The Foundry itself is unlocked via the Hobbyist Blueprint Station upgrade, which we’ve outlined in our complete guide to Blueprint Station upgrades.

Meanwhile, you can buy old shoes from Francis’ Floating Shop for 8 Glims each.

Once you have the shoe, simply input it inside the Foundry compartment and play the minigame to get Household Glue.

Where To Get Sawdust

Each log you cut into planks will also produce sawdust.

Next, you need to build the Sawmill (if you don’t have one already). This is unlocked by the same Hobbyist Blueprint Station upgrade.

Once built, head inside and place any of these logs (cut from trees found in islands):

Pine Logs
Ash Logs
Maple Logs
Oak Logs

No matter what log you choose, each one you cut will output sawdust alongside the planks.

For the final step, head inside your kitchen and combine the sawdust and household glue.

After a couple of seconds, homemade paper will come out.

As a quest-related item, the only thing you can do with homemade paper is give it to Stanley during the “Junior Architectural Designer” request. You can’t sell it to any of the Raccoon Shops for extra Glims.
