Hummingberg Preservation Society Shenanigan Guide (Spiritfarer)

Starting the Hummingberg Preservation Society Quest

Hummingberg Preservation Society is a shenanigan side quest that rewards you with the Windmill building improvement blueprint. It also takes place on the very first island you find in the game.

Starting the Shenanigan

First, make sure that you have already unlocked the Windmill building. The building itself is accessible via the Craftsman Blueprint Station, and here’s what that upgrade requires:

  • 10 Oak Planks
  • 19 Linen Thread
  • 1,000 Glims

Once you have the upgrade, you can then build the Windmill using these materials:

  • 16 Oak Planks
  • 8 Marbles
  • 5 Aluminum Ingots

After building the Windmill, wait for at least a couple of in-game days. Then just head back to the island you initially start with: Alt Harbor (X: 43, 40).

Since this is the initial island the game starts on, you don’t need any ship upgrades prior to visiting it.

He will give you the side quest.

Jabari will ask you to help with the group’s volunteer efforts.

Upon talking to the spirit Jabari, he will tell you that he’s part of a group whose goal is to clean up Alt Harbor.

He will then ask you to come help as a volunteer, and start by cleaning the crates floating in the water.

So jump in the water and interact with the two crates to clean them. You will be rewarded with plenty of items including seeds, wood, and some random items.

Once you’re done with the crates, talk to the spirit again and he will give you a short checklist of items to collect:

Here’s a cheatsheet of where to get the required items:
