The Liberty Pass is an item that was released wirelessly by Nintendo to commemorate the release of Black and White. The pass was available for about a month after the premiere of the games, and could be used to travel to Liberty Garden.
Once there, the player could capture the Mythical Pokémon Victini.
The Liberty Pass can technically be obtained through cheats, as all key items in Black/White can. However, even with cheating the item will have no functionality and is currently useless.
The ship that accepts the Liberty Pass can be found in Castelia City at the far west pier. If you speak to the captain of the ship without a legitimate Liberty Pass in your bag, he’ll simply talk about the size of the ship.
Does the Liberty Pass Work with Cheats?
The Liberty Pass can technically be obtained in Black/White by using cheats that give you all Key Items in the game.
But even if you obtain this item with a cheat, the item acts like more of a copy, and is therefore completely useless.
If you speak to the captain of the ship with the cheat-acquired Liberty Pass in your possession, he won’t recognize it. So it will remain unusable in your game even when cheated into your bag.
