TM44 Rest is a Status Psychic-type move that fully heals the user at the expense of falling asleep for 2 turns.

When paired with the move Sleep Talk, Rest can be quite powerful. Sleep Talk allows the Pokémon to use its other moves while asleep.

As the Hiker who gives you TM44 Rest will tell you, this move can also be used in conjunction with a Lum or Chesto berry, which will awaken the user from their sleep.

But unless your Pokémon is holding one of those berries, (or knows Sleep Talk), Rest can leave you vulnerable to taking considerable damage over the required 2 turns of sleep.
