First by talking to a man on a tiny island west of Cherrygrove City. Surf is required to reach him.

Alternatively, you can find Mystic Water in the hidden room of the bottom-left puzzle chamber at the Ruins of Alph, accessible from the Union Cave. You’ll need a Water Stone to open the hidden room.

Prerequisites

Your Pokémon must use Surf outside of battle to reach the Mystic Water at Cherrygrove City.

To do that, you must:

  1. Get HM03 Surf at the Ecruteak Dance Theater.
  2. Defeat Gym Leader Morty at Ecruteak City.
  3. Teach HM03 to a compatible Pokémon.

This entrance is located east of Azalea Town.

You’ll need a Water Stone to reveal the hidden room.

Tip: You can get an easy Water Stone from Bill’s Grandfather at the Sea Cottage northeast of Cerulean City in Kanto. You just have to show him a Staryu.

Once you have it, approach the wall at the back of the room. Look for the Water Stone in your Bag and “Use” it.

Mystic Water Uses

Mystic Water is a held item that increases the Power of Water-type moves by 10%.

It’s ideal for strong Water-type Pokémon like Feraligatr, Kingler, Starmie, or Suicune.

Some of the best moves to pair with Mystic Water are Hydro Pump, Kingler’s signature Crabhammer, or the classic Surf.
