In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, there are five different ways to obtain a Dawn Stone. But the easiest way to acquire a Dawn Stone is on Victory Road. You’ll receive it after defeating your rival, Wally, just before you get the chance to challenge the Pokémon League.
However, if you haven’t progressed to that part of the story yet then completing the Secret Super Training stage known as “Those Long Shots Are No Long Shot!” offers another reliable way to acquire a Dawn Stone.
Should you require additional Dawn Stones, there are still more ways to obtain them, although these methods might be more tedious and provide less certainty than the two methods listed above.
In this guide we’ll cover a list of all the ways you can farm Dawn Stones in the game.
Method 1: Beat Wally on Victory Road (One-time Only)
Near the end of Victory Road, your rival Wally is waiting to challenge you to a battle. If you defeat him, Wally will reward you with a Dawn Stone.
If you already have access to Ever Grande City then make sure to bring Pokémon that know HM03 Surf and HM04 Strength before exploring Victory Road. You’re going to need both HMs to navigate the cave and reach the second floor of Victory Road, where Wally is waiting for you.
Once you find Wally, heal up and prepare your team.
Then a short cutscene will play as you approach him.
Below is a table outlining Wally’s team for this battle:
Pokémon | Altaria Lv. 46 | Delcatty Lv. 46 | Roserade Lv. 46 | Magneton Lv. 46 | Gallade Lv. 48 |
Type | Dragon / Flying | Normal | Grass / Poison | Electric / Steel | Psychic / Fighting |
Ability | Natural Cure | Cute Charm | Poison Point | Sturdy | Steadfast |
Held Item | None | None | None | None | Galladite |

Method 2: Secret Super Training: Those Long Shots Are Not So Long!
Secret Super Training is a series of mini-games designed for fully-trained Pokémon to obtain rare items. If you complete the stage called “Those Long Shots Are No Long Shot!” within the target time, you have the chance to win one of the following prizes:
- Dawn Stone
- Hard Stone
- Pretty Wing
- Soda Pop
- Stardust
Because Super Training becomes available once Wally captures his Ralts, this method does provide the earliest opportunity to obtain a Dawn Stone in ORAS.
However, it should be noted that fully training a Pokémon’s EVs (Effort Values) may require a bit of time and effort.
If you already have a fully-trained Pokémon and are looking for a Dawn Stone, here’s how to unlock the stage that has it as a reward:
Step 1: Navigate to your PlayNav in the bottom screen. Then find and click the Super Training screen.
Step 2: On the Super Training screen, a radar chart displays your Pokémon’s EV distribution.
If you see that the meter on the right is filled and a muscle icon appears in the top-left of your screen, it means that Pokémon’s total EVs are fully maxed out at 510.
Step 3: Next, press the green button on the bottom left corner of the screen. You’ll see 12 new unlockable Secret Super Training stages, exclusively for fully-trained Pokémon.
If you want a chance to obtain a Dawn Stone, you’ll have to unlock the stage: Those Long Shots Are No Long Shot!
Step 4: Once you complete this stage within the target time, you have a good chance to obtain a Dawn Stone as a reward.
Method 3: Inverse Battle Stop
The Inverse Battle Stop in Mauville City is a unique battle facility operated by a trainer named Inver. This is where Inverse Battles take place.
Inverse battles are a special type of Pokémon battle in which type matchups are reversed, making moves that are usually super effective, not very effective, and vice versa.
Should you manage to defeat Inver, he’ll reward you with an item based on your score.
Each super-effective move you land earns you a point, while each super-effective move he lands against you causes a one-point deduction.
Scoring between 7 to 9 points gives you a 10% chance of obtaining a Dawn Stone. Each prize in this pool has an equal probability (10%) of being awarded. The prize pool for this score range includes the following:
- Fire Stone
- Leaf Stone
- Water Stone
- Thunder Stone
- Sun Stone
- Moon Stone
- Dawn Stone
- Dusk Stone
- Shiny Stone
- Everstone
Finding the Inverse Battle Stop
If you don’t know where the Inverse Battle Stop is, here’s how to get there:
Step 1: Begin at the Pokémon Center in Mauville City. Then head back inside the city’s interior through the entrance on the right.
Step 2: Once inside the city, proceed slightly north. Then turn towards your left at the first stall and you’ll find the Inverse Battle Stop.
Step 3: After entering the facility, talk to Inver at the back of the room to start the challenge.
Remember to track your points – you’ll need to accumulate a score of 7-9 to have a chance of obtaining a Dawn Stone.
Method 4: Rematch with Mysterious Sisters Scall & Ion
Defeating rematchable trainers in ORAS gives you a small chance of obtaining an item as a reward. When you defeat Mysterious Sisters Scall & Ion, they have a 5% chance of rewarding you with a Dawn Stone.
Here’s how you can rematch them:
The AreaNav is a feature of the PokéNav Plus that displays a map of the Hoenn Region. Upon selecting the map, you’ll see a tab labeled ‘Trainer’s Eye’.
This tab allows you to locate specific trainers across Hoenn who are ready for a rematch, indicated by a “Battle Ready” sign next to their profile.
Mysterious Sisters Scall & Ion can be found inside Sea Mauville, a sunken ship north of Route 108. You can initiate a rematch by just finding them & speaking to them.
But first, check the Trainer’s Eye tab at Sea Mauville to see if they’re available for a rematch.
Where To Find Mysterious Sisters Scall & Ion
Step 1: From the island you landed on at Sea Mauville, surf to the side of the ship up ahead.
Walk along the hallway to reach the ship’s main deck.
Step 2: Upon reaching the main deck, look for the doorway that takes you inside the ship.
Step 3: After entering the ship, turn left and walk past two trainers nearby.
Step 4: As you proceed, you’ll find a door on the left side of the hallway.
If it’s your first visit, this door will remain locked until you obtain the Key to Room 1.
To acquire the Key to Room 1, navigate towards the right side of the ship and talk to a Tuber Girl. Note that reaching the right side of the ship requires a Pokémon with Surf and Dive.
Step 5: Once you have the Key to Room 1, enter the room from step 4 above.
Then you can approach Mysterious Sisters Scall & Ion for a battle. You can repeat this an unlimited number of times, but you’ll have to wait until they’re ready for a rematch each time.
Method 5: Secret Pal Skill: Pick Up Stones
You also have a chance to obtain Dawn Stones by using the “Pick Up Stones” Secret Pal skill, which is one of the features of Super-Secret Bases.
In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Super-Secret Bases are an upgraded version of the Secret Base feature from the original games. After making your own Secret Base using TM94 Secret Power, you can customize and share your base with other players.
You can also visit other Secret Bases to interact with other players, challenge them to battles, and if you want, make them one of your Secret Pals.
Each Secret Pal can use a special skill once a day; and a pal can learn up to four of the ten possible skills.
