In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, there are five different ways to obtain Shiny Stones. The easiest way to acquire a Shiny Stone is on Route 121, where you can find it as an overworld item on the route’s east side.
However if you don’t have access to that location yet, completing the Secret Super Training stage known as “An Opening of Lighting-Quick Attacks!”, offers another reliable way to acquire a Shiny Stone.
Should you require additional Shiny Stones, there are still more ways to obtain them, although these methods might be more tedious and provide less certainty than the first two methods. In this guide, we’ll cover a list of all the ways you can farm Shiny Stones in the game.
Method 1 – Route 121 (One-time Only)
A guaranteed way to acquire a Shiny Stone is at Route 121.This extensive route houses the Safari Zone and connects to Lilycove City in the east.
A free Shiny Stone can be obtained after cutting down a prickly tree near a trainer. So make sure to bring a Pokemon with HM01 Cut first.
Since the Shiny Stone is located around the east side of the route, just fly back to Lilycove City and head out from there to find the Shiny Stone:
Step 1: From the Pokémon Center in Lilycove City, head west, and exit the city to reach Route 121.
Step 2: Upon entering Route 121, proceed west and go through the nearby tall grass.
Step 3: After you come out the other end, go north and you’ll find a prickly tree, which needs to be cut down with HM01 Cut to clear the path.
Step 4: After cutting down the tree, turn left and pick up the Shiny Stone on the ground.
Method 2 – Secret Super Training: An Opening of Lighting-Quick Attacks!
Secret Super Training is a series of mini-games designed for fully-trained Pokémon to obtain rare items. If you complete the stage called “An Opening of Lighting-Quick Attacks!” within the target time, you have the chance to win one of the following prizes:
- Shiny Stone
- Hard Stone
- Pretty Wing
- Soda Pop
- Stardust
Because Super Training becomes available once Wally captures his Ralts, this method does provide the earliest opportunity to obtain a Shiny Stone.
However, it should be noted that fully training a Pokémon’s EVs (Effort Values) may require a bit of time and effort.
If you already have a fully-trained Pokémon and are looking for a Shiny Stone, here’s how to unlock the stage which presents it as a reward:
Step 1: Navigate to your PlayNav in the bottom screen. Then find and click the Super Training screen.
Step 2: On the Super Training screen, a radar chart displays your Pokémon’s EV distribution. If you see that the meter on the right is filled and a muscle icon appears in the top-left of your screen, it means your Pokémon’s total EVs are fully maxed out at 510.
Step 3: Next, press the green button on the bottom left corner of the screen.
You’ll see 12 new unlockable Secret Super Training stages, exclusively for fully-trained Pokémon. If you want a chance to obtain a Shiny Stone, you’ll have to unlock the stage: An Opening of Lighting-Quick Attacks!
Step 4: Once you complete this stage within the target time, you have a good chance to obtain a Shiny Stone.
Method 3 – Inverse Battle Stop
The Inverse Battle Stop is a unique battle facility operated by a trainer named Inver, where Inverse Battles take place. Inverse battles are a special type of Pokémon battle in which type matchups are reversed, making moves that are usually super effective, not very effective, and vice versa.
Should you manage to defeat Inver, he’ll reward you with an item based on your score. Each super-effective move you land earns you a point, while each super-effective move he lands against you causes a one-point deduction.
Scoring between 7 to 9 points gives you a 10% chance of obtaining a Shiny Stone.
Each prize in this pool has an equal probability (10%) of being awarded. The prize pool for this score range includes the following:
- Fire Stone
- Leaf Stone
- Water Stone
- Thunder Stone
- Sun Stone
- Moon Stone
- Dawn Stone
- Dusk Stone
- Shiny Stone
- Everstone
If you don’t know where the Inverse Battle Stop is, here’s how to get there:
Step 1: Begin at the Pokémon Center in Mauville City. Then head back inside the city’s interior through the entrance on the right.
Step 2: Once inside the city, proceed slightly north and turn left into the first shop. This is where you’ll find the Inverse Battle Stop.
Step 3: After entering the facility, talk to Inver to start the challenge. Remember to track your points – accumulate a score of 7-9 to have a chance of obtaining a Shiny Stone.
Method 4 – Rematch with Fairy Tale Girl Momo
The AreaNav is a feature of the PokéNav Plus, which displays the map of the Hoenn Region.
Upon selecting the map, you will see various tabs, including the Trainer’s Eye tab. This tab allows you to locate specific trainers across Hoenn who are ready for a rematch, indicated by a “Battle Ready” sign next to their profile.
Defeating rematchable trainers gives you a small chance of obtaining an item as a reward. When you defeat Fairy Tale Girl Momo, she has a 5% chance of rewarding you with a Shiny Stone.
Fairy Tale Girl Momo can be found inside Mt. Pyre. You can find her on the second floor of the building, and you can request a rematch by speaking to her.
But first, check the Trainer’s Eye tab at Mt. Pyre to see if she’s available for a rematch. If she is, fly back to Mt. Pyre:
Step 1: Go through the entrance to reach Mt. Pyre’s interior.
Step 2: Once you’re in Mt. Pyre, proceed north through the hallway, then turn left around the room’s center.
Step 3: Keep going west and make your way to the top-left side of the room.
Step 4: Then go up the stairs that are near the Hex Maniac.
Step 5: Once you’re on the second floor, make your way toward the right side of the room.
Step 6: Before you get to the staircase, you should see Fairy Tale Girl Momo standing by a tombstone. Talk to her to start the rematch.
Method 5 – Secret Pal Skill: Pick Up Stones
You also have a chance to obtain a Shiny Stone by using the “Pick Up Stones” Secret Pal skill, which is one of the features of Super-Secret Bases.
In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Super-Secret Bases are an upgraded version of the Secret Base feature from the original games.
After making your own Secret Base using TM94 Secret Power, you can customize and share your base with other players.
You can also visit other Secret Bases to interact with other players, challenge them to battles, and if you want, make them one of your Secret Pals. Each Secret Pal can use a special skill once a day; a pal can learn up to four of the ten possible skills:
