TM68 Giga Impact can only be purchased on Lilycove Department Store’s fourth floor. The TM sells for 50,000 Pokédollars, and you’ll be able to get this TM as soon as you have access to Lilycove City.
As for the move itself:
Giga Impact is a Normal-type move that deals damage with a massive base power of 150. However, after using it, you are forced to skip one turn. This major downside prevents it from ever becoming viable.
TM68 Giga Impact Location (Step-by-Step)

Giga Impact is a Physical Normal-type move that requires the user to rest after using it. This prevents your Pokemon from attacking or switching out of battle for one turn.

Giga Impact is essentially the Physical counterpart to Hyper Beam.
Yet even with a base power of 150, it’s a terrible move. Because even if you manage to knock out your opponent with it, you’ll still need to recharge.
This means you’re giving your opponent a free turn – something you should never do.
If you want a better Physical Normal-type move, Return is almost always a better option.
But if you really want to use Giga Impact, here are a few tips:
- Normal-type Pokémon are the most effective users of Giga Impact. Normal-type STAB (Same-type attack bonus) gives Giga Impact an extra 75 base power, which is quite good.
- Giga Impact works well with Slaking’s ability. Truant, Slaking’s ability, causes it to skip every other turn. As a result, the move’s recharge turn and “loafing around” occur on the same turn. However, this forces Slaking to stay in after attacking.
- Giga Impact can be used as a finishing move. If you successfully knock out your opponent’s final Pokémon with Giga Impact, you can reap the benefits of its high base power without suffering its downsides.
