Driftwood Shenanigans Guide (Spiritfarer)

Starting the Drifwood Shenanigan in Spiritfarer

Driftwood is a mid- to late-game shenanigan that you can randomly encounter in Spiritfarer. It includes rescuing a lost spirit.

Starting the Shenanigan

This request is only available once you reach the game’s mid-point and onwards.

There is no specific in-game event that triggers the shenanigan, since it starts randomly.

You do have a higher chance of starting the Driftwood shenanigan once you send at least 4-5 spirits to the Everdoor, and after you have finished the “Greetings from Furogawa!” side quest.

Once you have done both of the things above, just go fishing anywhere on the map.

But from our testing, we’ve found that the waters around Albert’s Shipyard have a higher chance of triggering this event.

You’ll need to just keep fishing until you fish out a bottle with a message inside. After that, the side quest will begin.

After getting the bottle, head to your inventory and open it.

Inside you will find this message:

“Help me!
I’m lost at sea.
Hopefully, this bottle reaches your friend.
Here is my location on the map:
58, -11”

You’ll then want to head to the coordinates X: 58, Y: -11.

This location is conveniently found just below Alt Harbor and Albert’s Shipyard, near the game’s starting point. You’ll also find a question mark on the map here.

Note: Keep in mind that visiting the island without getting the bottled message first will yield no results.

After arriving at the location, you’ll find a tall pink spirit floating on a piece of wood. He says that he’s looking for his sister, but can’t remember where she is exactly.

After speaking with the spirit, you’ll want to head to the island of Furogawa at (X: -150, Y: 67).

Luckily, the island itself requires no ship upgrades to reach. It’s located on the map’s west side.

Once you’re on the island, talk to the tall pink spirit standing beside the first house with the table and chairs. She will then ask you to deliver a letter to the first spirit – so you’ll need to head back to the spirit at sea.

Once you reach him again just give the letter to him.

He will thank you before ending the side quest.
