Firefly Event Guide in Spiritfarer

Playing the Fireflies Event in Spiritfarer

The Firefly event is a minigame that gets introduced to you early in the game by Gustav, one of the ship’s passenger spirits.

Much like other events, this one also gives you the chance to farm a unique resource: fireglow seeds. These seeds are then planted and grown into ingredients for cooking a number of dishes.

As mentioned above, this event is introduced to you by Gustav. You can find him in Furogawa, where he’ll give you a request to recover a specific art piece he’s missing.

Once he’s on the ship, follow his quest line as usual until he introduces you to the Firefly event.

Being a location-based event, the Firefly event is marked by an ink-like splotch on the map with a golden firefly icon in the middle.

There are three locations all in all, including:

  • X: -98, Y: 98
  • X: 114, Y: -45
  • X: 236, Y: -49

Note: Reaching the Firefly event requires the Ice Destroyer Boat Improvement from Albert’s Shipyard.

As always, sail to one of these locations and interact with Gustav to start the event.

Minigame Details + Mechanics

Once the event starts, you’ll find that it’s very similar to the Jellyfish event.

Hordes of fireflies will start flying from the right side of the ship, and it’s up to you to start hitting these fireflies to catch them.

Regular golden fireflies will provide you with Glims, while the red fireflies carry Fireglow Seeds.

Fortunately, off-screen red fireflies are marked by an indicator, so you know where they’ll appear.

Like the Jellyfish event, having high buildings with ladders positioned will help you farm the most amount of fireglow seeds with each run.

Once Gustav leaves for the Everdoor, you can trigger the event by going to one of the locations and interacting with the door of his art gallery.

Fireglow Seeds Uses

After the event, you can plant these seeds into the Field to grow Fireglow. Each seed yields 2 Fireglow once harvested.

This is considered a vegetable, and you can then use Fireglow to cook these dishes in the kitchen:
