How To Get the Warring Lanner Mount in FFXIV

To get the Warring Lanner mount, you must obtain the Warring Lanner Whistle from the Level 60 trial Containment Bay S1T7 (Extreme), also known as the Sephirot EX trial. You can do this in two ways:

• Defeat Sephirot EX and win the Warring Lanner Whistle drop from the Treasure Coffer. You can do this trial unsynced on your own or with your friends very easily with high-level characters.
• Trade 99 Fiend Totems with Bertana in Idyllshire (X:5.9 Y:5.2) or Rowena’s Representative in Foundation (X:10.5, Y:11.8). Given how easy the trial is at this point in the game, you probably won’t need to clear the trial 99 times before you win the whistle drop, even if you’re rolling against other people.

The Warring Lanner mount is also one of the seven Lanner mounts you’ll need to acquire to unlock the Firebird mount.

Containment Bay S1T7 (Extreme)

The main method of getting the Warring Lanner Whistle is by defeating Sephirot EX in the Containment Bay S1T7 (Extreme) trial. Introduced in Patch 3.2 as a Level 60 endgame trial, Sephirot EX is pretty easy to solo nowadays.

You can enter the trial while unsynced with a high-level character and defeat the boss relatively easily. Read about its mechanics in our guide linked above to learn how to unlock and clear the trial, especially if you want to do it synced with your friends.

At the end of the fight, you have a low chance of the Warring Lanner Whistle dropping as a treasure coffer reward. You also have the option of trading 99 Fiend Totems for the whistle if you’re extremely unlucky with the drops. You’ll receive one Fiend Totem for every kill.

Trade these totems with Bertana in Idyllshire (X:5.9 Y:5.2) or Rowena’s Representative in Foundation (X:10.5, Y:11.8) for the whistle or weapon loot (10 totems per weapon).
