Where To Find the Move Reminder in Pokémon ORAS

Inside the Move Reminder's House in Alpha Sapphire

If you want your Pokémon to relearn any moves they’ve forgotten, you’ll need to visit the Move Reminder (also known as the Move Maniac or Move Relearner).

You can find the Move Reminder in his house on the northwest side of Fallarbor Town. His house is immediately to the left of the Contest Hall building.

In exchange for just one Heart Scale, the Move Reminder can help any of your Pokémon relearn one move they could have learned at lower levels. Additionally, the Move Reminder NPC can also help your Pokémon relearn any of these moves too:

  • If your Pokémon hatched from an Egg and had an Egg Move
  • If your Pokémon was caught via DexNav with an Egg move
  • If your Pokémon is a Mystery Gift Pokémon with event-exclusive moves

  • Obtained the third Gym Badge from Mauville City’s Gym Leader, Wattson
  • Traveled through Fiery Path and Route 113
  • Have at least 1 Heart Scale for each move you plan to relearn

Just remember that you’ll need to provide him with a Heart Scale for each move.

The Move Reminder can help your Pokémon relearn any of the following moves:

  • Moves learnable at a previous level
  • Egg moves known by Pokémon hatched from Eggs
  • Egg moves known by Pokémon caught using the DexNav
  • Event-exclusive moves learned by Mystery Gift event Pokémon

Fastest Way to Get Heart Scales

Using Thief to obtain a Heart Scale from the wild Luvdisc / Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
Using Thief to obtain a Heart Scale from the wild Luvdisc

Among the various methods of getting Heart Scales, there’s one farming method that works best:

Using TM46 Thief on wild Luvdisc. Each wild Luvdisc has a 50% chance to be holding a Heart Scale, so it’s surprisingly simple to get a few of these scales pretty quickly.

The best way to find wild Luvdisc is by using the Good Rod or the Super Rod in any body of water in these areas:

  • Route 128
  • Ever Grande City
  • Victory Road

Tip: Leading your team with a Pokémon that has the Compound Eyes ability boosts the chance of wild Luvdisc holding a Heart Scale from 50% to 60%. You can use this ability to make it easier to obtain Heart Scales from Luvdiscs when using Thief. We actually created a complete guide on an optimized item farming team so check that out for more specific tips.

But for quick reference, here’s a list of Pokémon that can learn Thief and that possess the Compound Eyes ability:
