Deadly Thunderstorms Event Guide (Spiritfarer)

The Deadly Thunderstorms are a late-game location-based event that you’ll access from the spirit Elena through her challenges.

The event is similar to the regular Thunderstorm event that Atul introduces to you, and will also yield Lightning in a Bottle at the end of every run.

One of the trickier challenges in the game, this guide will provide an in-depth breakdown of the event to help you succeed.

Unlocking the Minigame

While the regular Thunderstorms event are introduced to you by Atul, the Deadly Thunderstorms are part of Elena’s challenges.

First, find Elena at the top of a metal construction platform in Crow’s End Inc. (X: -126, Y: -51), which is reachable once you have the Bounce ability from the Oxbury Shrine (X: 233, Y: 18).

Talk to her and she will join your ship immediately.

Then complete her requests until you get to the “Elena’s Dharma” quest.

Elena will ask you to complete three challenges in this request, one of which is the Deadly Thunderstorms event.

To unlock it, you’d sail to the location (X: -144, Y: -79) and interact with Atul (or interact with the door of his workshop if Atul has already left the ship).

Note: Reaching the location of this event requires the Mist Cleaner 1000 boat improvement.

Minigame Details

If you’ve already played the regular Thunderstorms event, then this minigame should feel familiar.

Areas where the lightning will strike will start glowing, and you will need to stand there before the lightning strikes to capture them.

But as part of Elena’s challenge, you’ll need to capture at least ⅓ of all lightning strikes before the timer finishes.

The lightning strikes are also more fast-paced here, upping the difficulty.

Here are some tips to help you succeed:

  1. Make a long flat surface on your ship that you can easily run from one end to the next. This increases your chances of getting lightning strikes on the same level.
  2. Maximize the use of abilities like Double Jump and Dash.
  3. Facilities like a zipline can help you get easier access to higher spots.
  4. Opt for waiting for closer lightning strikes than chasing ones that are very far away.

Keeping these tips in mind will help you maximize the lightning strikes you can capture.
