The Shadow Steel Orcs event is a minigame that you will encounter through one of Buck’s requests.

In this event, you’ll be able to collect XP Potions, a late-game resource that you can use for more advanced ship upgrades and facilities.

Unlocking the Minigame

The Shadow Steel Orcs are introduced to you by the spirit Buck, who you can find at the top of the Hikarishima Lighthouse (X: -137, Y: -14).

You can recruit him after acquiring the Bounce Ability in Oxbury (X: 233, Y: 18).

Once Buck’s on the ship, simply follow his quest line until you reach the “Demons of Light” request, where you will unlock the Light Burst Ability. You will need this in the minigame.

Right after that, Buck will give you “The Fires of Tondor” request, where he’ll introduce you to the Shadow Steel Orcs minigame.

Simply interact with him to start the game.

It’s essentially a “tabletop battle” on the ship. The event will have cardboard Shadow Steel Orcs popping up all over the ship. And Stella will need to defeat them via one of two ways:

  • Regular Shadow Steel Orcs can be defeated by bumping into them
  • Corrupted Shadow Steel Orcs can be defeated by using the Light Burst ability to hit them

Corrupted Shadow Steel Orcs, which ooze a dark aura, will give 1 XP Potion per Orc, while regular Orcs will only give Glims.

Our only tip with this minigame is to be quick with your platforming, and to have the Light Burst button ready at all times.

Fortunately, the ability itself recharges quickly after each use.

Once the event ends, you can start it again by interacting with the tabletop game inside Buck’s Lair of Wonders. Buck himself doesn’t have an Everdoor moment and will not leave the ship ever.

The XP Potion is a resource that’s used in a number of upgrades and improvements. This includes:

  • 5 XP Potions
  • 3 Fireglows
  • 18 Silk Fabrics
  • 790 Glims
Smithy Improvement
  • 12 XP Potions
  • 1 Steel Sheet
  • 5 Gold Ingots
  • 1 Celestial Sheet
  • 890 Glims
Sun Ballad
  • 25 XP Potions
  • 5 Rose Gold Sheets
  • 2 Diamonds
  • 10,000 Glims
