The easiest way to get a Pink Bow in Pokémon Crystal is by talking to Tuscany, one of the Week Siblings.
Tuscany shows up on Route 29 on Tuesdays. You’ll find her near the middle of the route, a few steps below a small cuttable tree.
But there are four total ways you can acquire Pink Bows, two of which are repeatable methods to get as many as you want.
Getting Pink Bows
Method #1: Tuscany on Route 29 (Tuesday Only)
Start in New Bark Town and exit toward Route 29 to the west.
Go down into the massive patch of grass and keep heading southwest.
You’ll find Tuscany on a ledge to the north shortly after exiting the tall grass. Talk to her to get the Pink Bow.
Method #2: Mary at the Goldenrod Radio Tower
Start at Goldenrod City’s Pokémon Center and head north, following the main street until you can see the train tracks. Then turn left before the tracks.
You’ll find the Radio Tower to the left, near the coast.
Check the top right corner of the lobby to find the stairs leading up to the second floor (2F).
Once on the second floor, go to the opposite side to find the stairs leading up to the third floor (3F).
Now you want to head to the right again. Don’t go up the stairs in the middle of the room, but instead go up the stairs in the northeastern corner.
You’ve reached your destination. Mary should be recording her show in the booth to the south. Talk to her to get the Pink Bow.
Method #3: Picnicker Tiffany on Route 43
Start by leaving Mahogany Town through the northern exit. This leads to Route 43.
Stick to the left as trees split the road.
Then, follow the road northward along the river until you find Tiffany in the tall grass.
You need to record Picnicker Tiffany’s phone number on your PokéGear before she’ll offer the Pink Bow.
Most trainers will share their contact info after a battle, but Tiffany has a special requirement. You need to have a Clefairy in your party, or she won’t give you her number.
Wild Clefairy are only available in Kanto at the following locations:
- Mt. Moon
- Routes 3 & 4 (from 6PM to 4AM)
Once you have a Clefairy, talk to Tiffany on Route 43 to record her number.
Now you need to wait until she calls you to offer a gift. When she does, go back and talk to her again in person to get a Pink Bow or a PokéDoll.
Tip: Turn Daytime Savings Time on and off repeatedly to trigger phone calls quickly. Talk to your mom at New Bark Town to do this.
Method #4: Reena’s Nidoqueen on Route 27
Use Surf to swim eastward from New Bark Town into Route 27.
Once on the other side of the water, go northeast and into the Tohjo Falls cave.
Use Surf to enter the water again, then Waterfall to go up the waterfall to the north.
Once topside, swim a few tiles east and go down the waterfall to the south.
Head southeast, and you’ll find the exit immediately.
Use Surf again to enter the water to your right as you exit the cave.
Swim a few tiles northeast and exit the water again.
Cross the patch of grass as you keep heading eastward, and you’ll end up at a pink bridge.
Cooltrainer Reena is further east, right before exiting Route 27.
Enemy trainers in Pokémon Crystal rarely use held items, but Cooltrainer Reena is an exception. This only happens in rematches, though.
So defeat her in battle once and talk to her again to get her phone number. Then wait for her to call you and offer a rematch.
Starting from the first rematch onward that you have against Reena, her Nidoqueen will be holding a Pink Bow, which you can steal with Thief.
Tip: Remember to keep your Thief Pokémon’s held item slot empty or you won’t be able to steal the Pink Bow.
Pink Bow Uses
The Pink Bow is a held item that increases the Power of Normal-type moves.
A ton of powerful Normal-type Pokémon inhabit Johto and Kanto, including Ursaring, Blissey, and Snorlax. All of them are prime candidates to hold a Pink Bow.
Pokémon that know powerful Normal-type moves like Hyper Beam, Rollout, or Tri Attack can all benefit from Pink Bow, even if they don’t get the same-type attack bonus (STAB).
