Pattern Bush Location + Ultimate Horn Guide (Pokémon FRLG)

Standing in Pattern Bush on Six Island (Pokémon FireRed)

Pattern Bush is located on a small island (Green Path) just to the north of Six Island in the Sevii Islands. You’ll be able to reach Pattern Bush by sailing north from the eastern side of Six Island, surfing up on Water Path until you find Green Path.

Then just head to the west side of the island where Green Path is located and you’ll find the entrance to Pattern Bush.

Prerequisites

Pattern Bush can only be reached pretty late into the post-game, since it’s on one of the final Sevii Islands.

The prerequisites for getting to Pattern Bush are:

  • Have the Rainbow Pass (Beat the Elite Four and deliver the Ruby to Celio)
  • Have a Pokémon with Surf

Basically once you have the Rainbow Pass, you’re good to go!

Step 1: Getting To Six Island

If you don’t have the Rainbow Pass yet, you’ll need to do the Gemstone quest line with Celio on One Island.

To start this quest line, you need to defeat the Elite Four and catch/evolve 60 unique Pokémon.

Once you’ve done that, simply sail to One Island via the Vermilion City port and talk to Celio.

At this point Celio will ask you to find a rare gem (the Ruby), then deliver it back to him. After you deliver the Ruby, Celio will then ask you to find the Sapphire – after which he will give you his Rainbow Pass.

Once you have the Rainbow Pass, you can sail to Six Island!

Just head to any port in the game and select “Other”, then choose “Six Island”.

Step 2: Reaching Green Path

The next step for reaching Pattern Bush is to sail across the Water Path on Six Island to Green Path.

When you land on Six Island, head to the east side of the island and use Surf just off of the coast (this is Water Path).

Sail north from here until you find another small island, which is Green Path.

Step 3: Getting to Pattern Bush

When you land on this new little island (Green Path), head to the west side where you’ll see an entrance to a forest area with a signpost out front.

This is the Entrance to Pattern Bush.

Wild Heracross in Pattern Bush (The Heaviest Heracross)

The main reason to head to Pattern Bush is for Heracross and the repeatable Ultimate Horn side-quest.

There is a house on Green Path with a sign out front mentioning the “Ultimate Horn”. The Heracross lady inside is looking for you to show her a Heracross.

If you head to Pattern Bush and look around in the tall grass, you’re very likely to find a ton of Heracross.

I recommend catching a few if you can, since the Heracross Lady NPC will give you gifts if you show her a few increasingly-larger Heracross (measured by their weight).

Either way, once you’ve caught at least one Heracross just head back to the Heracross Lady’s house and show her what you’ve caught.

If you break your previous record for the heaviest Heracross, she’ll give you a free Nest Ball!

You can do this as much as you want, but keep in mind you’ll need to give her a larger Heracross every single time. So try not to give her your heaviest Heracross first if you want to maximize your yield of free Nest Balls.

A jack of all trades when it comes to gaming. I can sit down for hours in a casual playthrough of Pokémon, or I can spend months trying to hit Diamond in League of Legends. I love and appreciate everything about games, and love sharing that passion with my readers.
