Seven Stars Restaurant + All Trainers (Pokémon Platinum)

The Seven Stars Restaurant is a small eatery in the Hotel Grand Lake where Pokémon battles aren’t just allowed—they’re encouraged. From 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day you’ll find an assortment of trainers inside ready to engage in Double Battles with you.

You’ll be able to reach the Seven Stars Restaurant shortly after you first arrive in Veilstone City, and it’s an excellent place to learn about and test Double Battle strategies at this earlier stage of the game.

The Restaurant is open between the hours of 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. every day (according to the time on your console’s built-in clock).

It’s filled with pairs of dining trainers that can be challenged to Double Battles.

There are 9 total pairs of trainers, 5 of which will be present in the Seven Stars Restaurant on a given day. Their Pokémon range in level from 24 to 31.

Because the trainer teams’ Pokémon are widely varied and often complement each other, this is a great place to pick up new ideas for Double Battles and earn extra cash and experience.

For instance, you might think to use an Electric-type move against one trainer’s Finneon, but their partner’s Rhyhorn will simply step in and absorb the attack with its Lightning Rod Ability and render it useless.

You may never run into a combination like this again—but you’ll be ready if you do.

How To Reach the Seven Stars Restaurant

The Hotel Grand Lake is a little off the beaten path. But one of the quicker ways to reach it is to start from Pastoria City.

From Pastoria City’s Pokémon Center, head east.

As you move east, the beach will become a narrow sandbar. Head north after it widens again.

The following is a list of all the Seven Stars Restaurant’s diners and their Pokémon, grouped together in their respective Double Battle teams.

Remember that only five of the nine listed pairs will be present on any given day.

Note: The amount of XP listed below is assuming that:

  • You are the original trainer of the Pokémon you’re using to battle
  • Your Pokémon aren’t holding items like the Lucky Egg or the Exp. Share
  • You’re not switching Pokémon out mid-battle
