Cotton is part of Spiritfarer’s cloth materials category. You’ll get cotton initially as seeds from the Loneberg Raccoon Inc. Shop. These seeds are then grown in the Field as cotton fibre before being taken to the Loom, where you can weave them into cotton thread and cotton fabric.

These cotton materials are then used to make at least 4 buildings and 1 improvement.

Where To Acquire Cotton Seeds

Cotton seeds can only be bought from the Raccoon Shop in Loneberg, an island on the north (winter side) of the Hummingberg region.

This means that you first need to have the Icebreaker Boat Improvement, which you can find detailed in our guide to all boat improvements.

Once you have the upgrade, head towards the island at X: -40, Y: 192. There, you’ll find a Raccoon Inc. Shop that will sell you cotton seeds for 150 Glims apiece.

How To Grow Cotton

Harvesting cotton in the field / Spiritfarer

After purchasing some seeds, go inside the field and plant them. Then water the seeds accordingly until they grow into cotton fibre after a few in-game days.

If you want to speed up the process, you can also play the “Plantasia Fantastica” music minigame that the spirit Summer will teach you.

Once the cotton plants are all fully grown, just press the interact button to start harvesting. Each cotton seed will give you 4 cotton fibres.

Making Cotton Thread

To make cotton thread, go inside your Loom and put the fibre in the machine. Depending on how much you have, you can input up to 50 cotton fibres inside.

After confirming, hold the interact button and wait until Stella’s everlight tool is lined up with the loom indicator before you release it. The closer you get to this indicator, the more cotton fibre the loom will make, with a maximum output of 3.

Making Cotton Fabric

In order to weave cotton fabric, you need to first upgrade the Loom building itself (this is detailed in our Loom building guide).

After upgrading the Loom, head inside and put in some linen fibre in the machine. Then play the same weaving minigame like you did previously to make some cotton fabric. The maximum output for each linen fibre is 3 cotton fabrics.
