Mackerels are an early-game fish in Spiritfarer with an unknown size. They can only be caught under rainy weather in the spring side of Hummingberg and Furogawa, and they can be used to cook 5 fish-related recipes.
Where to Catch Mackerel
Mackerels can only be caught through the fishing minigame. Here’s how it works:
Sit at the back of your ship and Stella will cast a line in the water.
After you get a bite, the bobber will move, and you need to immediately start reeling in via the interact button. While doing so, keep your eye on the line and pause from reeling if it turns red, as this indicates it’s about to snap. Repeat this back and forth until you catch the fish.
As for fishing locations, mackerels can only be caught under rainy weather in these two locations:
- Hummingberg (X: 39, Y: 139)
- Furogawa (X: -150, Y: 67)
Both of these islands are accessible early in the game without any prior ship improvements. And you can use your freshly-caught Mackerel as recipe ingredients, or you can sell them to Raccoon Shops for 65 Glims each.
