The diamond is part of Spiritfarer’s gemstone category, and it is easily one of the most expensive items you can sell.

It can be acquired through Francis’ “Diamonds Are Everybody’s Best Friend” errand and Susan’s Museum, as well as coal mining after you get the improved tools ability. One of the hidden chests in Hoseki Quarry also contains 1 diamond for you to collect.

Acquiring Diamonds (All Locations)

Much like the other gemstones in Spiritfarer, there are several ways to get diamonds. We’ll cover each of these methods below:

Hoseki Quarry Chest

Start by heading over to Hoseki Quarry at X: -138, Y: 28, an island in the Furogawa Region that doesn’t require any ship improvements to reach. After arriving, follow these steps to find the hidden chest:

Step 1: From the quarry’s entrance, climb up the two ladders until you reach the landing up top.

From the entrance, go up the ladder.

Step 2: Next, walk left until you reach a fork in the road, with one road going up and one going down. Take the road going down before continuing to your left.

Head back down the first fork and head left.

Step 3: Once you find a ladder, climb it.

Go back to the ladder and climb up.

Step 4: Halfway through the third ladder, you’ll find a lantern going into the wall towards the right. Jump into it to find another hidden passage.

Go right halfway up the third ladder to find the hidden passage.

Step 5: The next chest can be found at the end of this hidden passage.

A chest is waiting for you at the end of the passage.

The hidden chest you find contains 1 Old Painting and 1 Diamond.

“Diamonds Are Everybody’s Best Friend” Errand

This errand will reward you with a diamond.

For the next method, visit Francis’ Wandering Shop and look for the “Diamonds Are Everybody’s Best Friend” under the errands section. This errand requires you to collect these things:

4 XP Potions
4 Bottled Ectoplasms

Upon completion of these materials, simply click the errand and you’ll immediately get 1 Diamond and a whopping 5,000 Glims.

Coal Mining

Mining coal with the improved tools ability increases your chance of also getting a diamond.

You can also get diamonds via coal mining. Before that though, you will first need to acquire the Improved Tools Ability, found in the Hidden Shrine at X: 220, Y: 167.

After getting the ability, start mining the coal nodes in any of these locations:

Hoseki Quarry
Mount Toroyama
Kalstein Mines
Southpoint Docks
Flotsam Shores
Shadow Forest

Once you have the improved tools ability, mining coal gives you a high chance of also getting diamonds.

Susan’s Museum Reward

Collecting 17 fishes for Susan’s Museum will reward you with 2 diamonds.

Last but not the least, you can also get diamonds as a reward for collecting a category in Susan’s Museum, found at X: -150, Y: 150.

Once you’re at the museum, simply collect 17 types of fishes and you will be rewarded with 2 diamonds as a reward.
