Herrings are small common fish you can catch in Spiritfarer.

As an early-game fish, you can catch these in all of the regions in the game, including near Alt Harbor once you start the game. You can then use Herrings to make 6 different fish-related dishes.

Where to Catch Herrings

To catch herrings, just sit at the back of your ship and Stella will automatically cast a line in the water.

The bobber will move once you get a bite, and you will need to hold the interact button to start reeling in your catch. While reeling, watch the line and pause when it turns red to stop it from snapping.

As for locations, herrings can be caught in every region in the game. These fish can also be caught at any time of day and during any weather, so they should be pretty easy to find.
