Iron Ore is one of the mineable metals you can find in Spiritfarer. This material is mined from from nodes found on several islands, before being turned into iron ingots using the Foundry.

How To Get Iron Ore (All Locations)

When mining, make sure to let go of the pickaxe once it starts shining to stop it from exploding / Spiritfarer
When mining, make sure to let go of the pickaxe once it starts shining to stop it from exploding.

To start mining, approach any node and hold the interact button. Doing so will turn Stella’s everlight into a pickaxe she will raise, and you need to let go before it explodes in her hand. For the best timing, let go once the pickaxe starts shining. Repeat this several times until the node breaks.

Here are all of the islands that contain iron ore nodes:

Hoseki Quarry (4 Nodes)

The first island on the list is Hoseki Quarry at X: -138, Y: 28, on the World Map’s south-western side. Fortunately, this map doesn’t require any ship improvements to reach.

Hidden Thicket (1 Node)

Next up is the Hidden Thicket, which is located just on the east when you’re coming from Crow’s End Inc. Since it’s also in the Crow’s End region, this island also requires the Mist Cleaner 1000 Boat Improvement.

You’ll immediately see the iron ore node on your right once you land on the island.

To make iron ingots, you will need the Foundry. This building requires the following materials to be created:

  • 10 Coals
  • 10 Oak Planks

Once the Foundry is built, here’s how to make copper ingots.

Step 1: Head inside and interact with the furnace in the middle to place some coal. You can put as much coal as you want.

Step 2: Head to the left side and interact with the compartment to place some of your iron ore. You can input up to 50 if you prefer.

Step 3: Once the items have been confirmed, a minigame will start. Interact with the bellows on each side in an alternating manner to push the needle up to the required temperature. Make sure the indicator remains inside the temperature to avoid the furnace from overheating.
