The Sweet Smell of Success Shenanigan Guide (Spiritfarer)

Starting Sweet Smell of Success Shenanigan in Spiritfarer

The Sweet Smell of Success is a short shenanigan side quest that explores the possibility of Stella being a star in the Spiritfarer world. You’ll get an upgrade blueprint for the Cow Stall as a reward for completing this quest.

Getting Started

To start, make sure that your boat is already equipped with the Icebreaker Boat Improvement.

Like all upgrades, this can be purchased from Albert’s Shipyard (X: 61, Y: 64). Getting the upgrade requires these materials:

  • 10 Iron Ingots
  • 12 Oak Planks
  • 18 Linen Fabrics
  • 1 Spirit Flower
  • 5 Slates
  • 800 Glims

Note: If you want to speed up this process, head over to our boat improvements guide to get a more detailed breakdown of where to get each item.

Once you have the improvement, sail north and break through the ice barrier to visit the island of Nordsee Pier at X: -116, Y: 165.

Upon arriving on the island, talk to the first spirit you see (standing closest to the docks).

For some reason this spirit will believe that Stella has the chops to become a famous actor.

Because of that, the spirit will ask you to visit some of his colleagues in order to look for a co-star. You will then be given the choice to either visit Old-Central District or Obscure Canopy.

The Old-Central District Route

If you want to visit the Old-Central District, you will first need the Rock Destroyer Boat Improvement from Albert’s Shipyard. This upgrade requires:

  • 10 Aluminum Ingots
  • 8 Marbles
  • 6 Fireglows
  • 2 Spirit Flowers
  • 1,700 Glims

After getting the upgrade, make your way towards the west-side of the World Map to visit Old-Central District, located at X: 185, Y: -8.

Once on the island, talk to the tall orange spirit standing on your left side.

This is Ingrid, and she will immediately agree to be a part of your movie after talking to her.

The Obscure Canopy Route

If you want to visit Obscure Canopy instead, then prepare your ship by equipping it with the Mist Cleaner 1000 Boat Improvement. As always, this can be purchased from Albert’s Shipyard and requires these materials:

  • 8 Silver Ores
  • 22 Silk Fabrics
  • 8 Bottled Ectoplasms
  • 6 Crystal Glass Sheets
  • 3 Spirit Flowers
  • 3,000 Glims

Once on the island, just head up the island’s left side and talk to the tall spirit.

This is Katherine, and she will also immediately agree to join the new project.

Finishing the Shenanigan

Whichever spirit you go with, the differences will only be minimal dialogue. So you shouldn’t worry about missing either one of the spirits in favor of the other.

Either way, head back to the same spirit in Nordweiler and talk to him again.

He’ll ask you which spirit you chose, before telling you that he can’t actually find a director for the movie at the moment.

He will then reward you with the Cow Stall Improvement blueprint, and the request will end.
