Gold Ore & Ingots (Spiritfarer)

Gold Ore is a mineable material that can be acquired from both mining on islands and by beating the gold dragon event. This ore is taken to the foundry to make gold ingots, which are then used to construct at least 5 building and boat improvements.

How To Get Gold Ore (All Nodes)

Here are all of the places where you can acquire gold ore:

Note: With the exception of the gold dragon event, keep in mind that all of the islands below require either the Mist Cleaner 1000 or Rock Destroyer boat upgrades.

Gold Dragon Event

This event is part of the challenges that the spirit Elena will give you, and gets unlocked after you have acquired the dash ability.

Note: In case you don’t have Elena yet, you may check our full spirit guide for her character.

Once you have Elena, follow her story until you reach the “Elena’s Dharma” quest, which introduces you to the gold dragon minigame found at X: 120, Y: 111.

The minigame itself is one of the toughest in Spiritfarer, as you need to complete it under 6 minutes. Each successful run of this minigame will net you plenty of gold ore.

Southpoint Docks

The first island where gold ore can be mined is Southpoint Docks at X: 157, Y: 22. Found on the World Map’s eastern region, this island requires the Rock Destroyer boat improvement.

Gold Ore Node

Step 1: Once you’re on the island, use the first dumpster bin you see to bounce and reach the scaffolding up top.

Step 2: After getting on the scaffolding, go to your right and climb the ladder with a zinc node at the top.

Step 3: From the edge of the upper scaffolding, dash and double jump to your left to reach another scaffolding, where gold ore can be found.

Crow’s End Inc.

This island is found on the southwest region of the World Map, and requires the Mist Cleaner 1000 boat improvement to reach. Once you have the upgrade, the island coordinates are at X: -126, Y: -51.

Gold Ore Node

Step 1: From the island’s starting point, jump to your left to find a tent on a small outcropping. Use that tent to bounce and reach the top of the cliff above.

Step 2: From the cliff above, jump to your left and use the wire to zipline down a lower clearing with a giant air draft.

Step 3: Use the giant air draft to glide all the way to the top.

Step 4: Finally, walk to your left and drop down the bottom floor to find the gold ore node.

Hidden Thicket

This small island also requires the Mist Cleaner 1000 Boat Improvement, and is located just east of Crow’s End Inc. Its island coordinates are X: -42, Y: -91.

Once you’re on the island, simply jump to the water on your left and swim to the next islet. There you’ll find a single gold ore node.

Obscure Canopy

This is another small island that requires the Mist Cleaner 1000 Boat Improvement. However, it’s located on the opposite end of the map at X: 187, Y: 87, in the north-eastern regions.

Gold Ore Node

Step 1: From the island’s starting point, head to your right and ride the giant air draft all the way to the top.

Step 2: Once you reach the clearing up top, go to the left side of the edge and dash all the way to the next clearing.

Step 3: After landing, drop down to the lower clearing to find the gold ore node.

Misty Woods

The last island on our list is Misty Woods, located just north of Obscure Canopy at X: 148, Y: 152.

Once you’re on this island, simply use your zipline ability on the power line to reach a clearing where the gold node is.

Growing Gold Ore

Other than mining gold from islands or the gold dragon, you can also increase your gold ore supply by planting them on any of the Turtle Sisters.

Once any of the sisters are unlocked, these giant turtles let you plant any type of ore on their backs that will then grow after just a few in-game days.

Here are the locations of all three Turtle Sisters:

• Olga (X: 81, Y: 28)
• Masha (X: -91, Y: 138)
• Irina (X: 127, Y: -76)

How To Make Gold Ingots

In order to smelt your own gold ingots, you will need the Foundry on your ship. Here’s what it requires:

• 10 Coals
• 10 Oak Planks

Once the Foundry is built, here are the steps you need to follow:

Step 1: Head inside and interact with the furnace in the middle to place some coal. You can put as much coal as you wish.

Step 2: Head to the left side and interact with the compartment to place some of the gold ore from Stella’s inventory. You can put in up to 50.

Step 3: Once the items have been confirmed, the minigame will start. Interact with the bellows on each side in an alternating manner to push the needle up to the indicated temperature. While using the bellows, make sure that you never go over this temperature to avoid any overheating.

Step 4: Once the thermometer fills up, the ingots will fall in the basket at the right for you to easily collect.
